The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82402 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in aluminum and non-ferrous metals, with secondary capability in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloys, and hard materials. It features a 0.1250 inch mill diameter, a 0.0100 inch corner radius, and three helical flutes in a right-hand cutting direction. The stub-length geometry keeps the tool rigid, and a Zplus PVD coating extends tool life in high-speed applications. This end mill is built for both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool, making it a practical choice for machinists and tool-and-die professionals running high-precision CNC operations.
This tool is suited for use in high-precision toolholders on CNC machining centers handling aluminum and non-ferrous workpieces as the primary application. Secondary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloys, and hard materials. The stub length of cut at 0.2500 inches and a 1.5000 inch overall length make this end mill appropriate for tight-tolerance work where runout control is critical. The variable index pitch design reduces chatter and improves surface finish in both light finishing passes and aggressive material removal cycles.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders on CNC milling machines. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metals; secondary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloys, and hard materials. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS H40ALV-3 series.
This end mill is installed and changed out by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the 0.1250 inch straight-cylindrical shank fully into a clean, properly sized high-precision toolholder collet to stay within the 0.0003 inch maximum TIR specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating wear before mounting; carbide end mills should not be used if edge damage is visible.
