The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82390 is a 3-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-efficiency milling of aluminum and non-ferrous materials. With a 0.125-inch mill diameter and a 0.625-inch length of cut, this tool delivers clean, accurate profiles in applications where chip evacuation and surface finish are critical. The 40-degree helix angle and variable index geometry reduce chatter and harmonics during the cut. A ZrN (Zplus) coating provides lubricity and hardness suited to aluminum alloys and other non-ferrous workpiece materials. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC machining centers and manual mills, this end mill is a single-end, right-hand cutting tool on a straight shank.
This end mill is built for aluminum and non-ferrous materials in production and prototype environments. The 0.125-inch shank diameter matches the mill diameter, making it compatible with standard collet systems sized for 1/8-inch tooling. A 40-degree right-hand helical flute design promotes efficient chip flow away from the cut zone, which is especially important when machining sticky, gummy aluminum alloys. The 2.5-inch overall length provides sufficient reach for most shallow-to-moderate pocket and slot milling operations without sacrificing rigidity.
Designed for use with standard 1/8-inch collet systems on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Intended primary workpiece materials are aluminum and non-ferrous metals as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and power isolated per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the straight shank fully and evenly in a clean, properly sized collet before torquing the collet nut to the spindle manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or damage before each use. Consult tooling manufacturer feeds-and-speeds data for the specific alloy and machine setup before running this tool.
