The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82322 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance cutting in stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hardened steel. It features a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 1-5/8 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge. The Tplus PVD coating provides enhanced heat and wear resistance for demanding alloy applications. With a 4-flute, variable-pitch geometry and right-hand spiral flutes, this tool is built for both roughing and finishing operations in materials that accelerate tool wear. Machining professionals working in aerospace, medical, and precision manufacturing will find this tool suited for high-productivity cuts where surface finish and dimensional accuracy matter.
This end mill is engineered for use on CNC machining centers and high-speed milling operations involving stainless steel, high-temperature alloys such as Inconel and titanium, and hardened steels. Secondary workpiece materials include steel and cast iron. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry and full-slot cutting where needed. The variable pitch configuration reduces harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts, making it effective in both roughing and semi-finishing passes. It is compatible with high-precision toolholders to maintain the required low runout tolerances specified for this series.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders as specified by the manufacturer. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material codes M, S, H). Secondary workpiece materials are steel and cast iron (ISO codes P, K). Part of the HSV-4 series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Seat the 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank fully into a high-precision collet or toolholder to achieve the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inch specified for this tool. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating cuts in high-value workpieces. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping procedures to avoid shank damage or pullout during aggressive cuts.
