The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82321 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hardened steel. It features a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in difficult materials. The Tplus PVD coating provides enhanced wear resistance and heat management at the cutting zone. With four flutes, a variable pitch, and a right-hand spiral flute geometry, this end mill is built for both roughing and finishing operations on precision CNC machining centers. It is sold as a single-end tool with a straight cylindrical shank.
The 82321 is suited for shops running stainless steel components, high-temperature alloys such as Inconel and titanium, and hardened steels where tool deflection and heat buildup are primary concerns. The variable index flute spacing helps suppress chatter during aggressive cuts and during finishing passes where surface finish tolerance is tight. This tool is designed for use with high-precision toolholders to maximize runout control and cutting performance. It is appropriate for job shops, aerospace suppliers, medical component manufacturers, and any facility requiring consistent results on difficult-to-machine materials.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Secondary workpiece materials include steel and cast iron. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS HSV-4 series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Seat the straight cylindrical shank fully into a high-precision collet or toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout at the cutting tip does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches before beginning a cut. Always confirm feeds, speeds, and depth-of-cut parameters against the material being machined before starting a program.
