The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82320 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 1/2 inch mill diameter, 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at part edges and extends tool life. The 4-flute, single-end geometry with variable pitch and right-hand cutting direction supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. The Tplus PVD coating enhances wear resistance and thermal stability, making this end mill well-suited for shops running difficult-to-machine materials at aggressive parameters. Machinists and CNC operators working in aerospace, medical, and precision job shop environments are the primary users.
This end mill is engineered for primary use in stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hardened steel — material groups M, S, and H in ISO classification. Secondary suitable materials include steel and cast iron (ISO P and K). The centercutting design allows plunge entry, and the straight-cylindrical shank is sized for use with high-precision toolholders. The HSV-4 series is built for machining centers requiring tight tolerances and consistent surface finishes across production runs.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders in CNC machining centers. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium; secondary materials include steel and cast iron. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS HSV-4 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully in a clean, high-precision toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout does not exceed 0.0005 inches TIR before beginning a production cut.
