The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82309 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built in the HSV-4 series, it features a 3/8 inch mill diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.50 mm (0.0200 inch) corner radius that protects the cutting edge and reduces stress concentrations at the bottom of the cut. The four-flute, right-hand spiral geometry supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. A Tplus PVD coating improves wear resistance and thermal stability when cutting abrasive and hard materials. The straight cylindrical shank measures 3/8 inch in diameter with an h6 shank diameter tolerance for use in high-precision toolholders.
This end mill is optimized for stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, hardened steel, high-temperature alloys, and similar difficult-to-machine materials. Secondary material applications include steel and cast iron. The variable pitch design helps reduce chatter and harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts, making it suitable for aerospace, medical, die and mold, and precision manufacturing environments where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are required. A licensed machinist or CNC programmer would typically specify this tool for finishing passes or light-to-moderate roughing passes on hard materials where corner edge integrity is critical.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Secondary workpiece materials include steel and cast iron. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS HSV-4 series.
This tool is installed by a machinist or CNC setup technician in a compatible high-precision toolholder that matches the 3/8 inch straight cylindrical shank. Confirm toolholder runout meets or exceeds the 0.0005 inch maximum TIR specification before running the tool. Ensure spindle and all axes are at a full stop and machine power is in a safe state before tool changes. Do not exceed the rated cutting parameters for the workpiece material classification.
