The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82000 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in aluminum and non-ferrous metal applications. The 1/4 inch diameter cutter features a 0.0300 inch corner radius, 3 flutes, and a 3/4 inch length of cut, making it well suited for finishing and light roughing passes where edge integrity matters. The Zplus PVD coating reduces built-up edge and extends tool life in aluminum. Variable pitch geometry helps suppress chatter during aggressive cuts. At 2.5 inches overall length with a straight 1/4 inch shank, this end mill fits standard ER and shrink-fit toolholders. It is a single-end, centercutting design, allowing plunge entry. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers in job shops, aerospace shops, and production facilities are the primary users.
This end mill is optimized as a primary tool for aluminum and non-ferrous metals, with secondary capability in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. The H35ALV-C-3 series targets applications where corner protection is critical, such as shoulder milling, pocket milling, and contouring on aluminum fixtures, structural components, and precision machined parts. Its centercutting capability supports ramping and helical interpolation entry strategies common in CNC machining centers. The variable pitch design is particularly effective when long tool overhangs or thin-wall workpieces increase vibration risk.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Straight cylindrical 1/4 inch shank with h6 tolerance is compatible with ER collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and hydraulic chucks of appropriate bore size. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS H35ALV-C-3 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the toolholder bore is clean and free of chips before seating the shank to the specified gauge length. Confirm runout does not exceed the 0.0003 inch TIR maximum before cutting. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for pull studs and collet nuts — do not exceed rated clamping force.
