The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 81975 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built on the HEV-C-7 series platform, it features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and 7 flutes with a variable index and helical flute geometry. The APLUS PVD coating improves wear resistance and heat dissipation at the cutting edge. With a 2 inch length of cut and 4 inch overall length, this is a long-reach tool suited for deeper cavity work. It is centercutting and configured for right-hand cutting and flute direction. A chipbreaker is integrated into the flute geometry to support roughing operations without chip packing.
This end mill is intended for roughing and semi-finishing in ferrous and exotic materials, including low-alloy steel, medium alloy steel, tool steel, cast iron, and titanium. It is also rated for secondary use in non-ferrous metals. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard precision toolholders, and the manufacturer specifies use with high-precision toolholders to maintain runout within the rated TIR maximum. This tool is appropriate for CNC milling centers in job shop, production, and aerospace machining environments where multi-material capability and long tool life are priorities.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys and titanium. Secondary workpiece material compatibility includes non-ferrous metals.
This tool is installed and operated by CNC machinists and tooling technicians. Secure the shank in a high-precision toolholder and verify runout does not exceed the rated TIR maximum before cutting. Confirm that spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut parameters are set per the applicable machining data for the workpiece material before engaging the cut. Do not exceed the rated corner radius tolerance range when programming tool offsets.
