The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 81925 is a 6-flute solid carbide ball end mill designed for demanding material removal in stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. Built on the HEV-6 series platform, it features a variable index geometry that reduces harmonic vibration and improves surface finish across both roughing and finishing passes. The 0.2500-inch diameter pairs with a 0.5000-inch length of cut and a Tplus PVD coating engineered to sustain cutting-edge integrity at elevated temperatures. This tool is sized for precision work in tight-tolerance applications where a standard 4-flute ball mill would underperform on harder workpiece materials.
The 81925 is suited for CNC machining centers running stainless steel grades, nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and hardened steels. Its 0.1250-inch nose radius and right-hand spiral flute geometry support consistent chip evacuation in deep-pocket and contour-milling operations. Secondary workpiece compatibility extends to carbon steel and cast iron, making this a versatile tool for shops that run mixed-material programs. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders at the 0.2500-inch shank diameter.
Designed for use in CNC machining applications with primary workpiece materials of stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials (material codes M, S, H) and secondary compatibility with steel and cast iron (material codes P, K). Fits standard 0.2500-inch bore ER collets and side-lock holders.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state. Verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005-inch maximum TIR specification after seating in the toolholder, as excess runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tools. A licensed machinist or qualified CNC operator should confirm speeds, feeds, and depth-of-cut parameters using the applicable material and coating guidelines before production runs. Handle carbide end mills carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edges during storage and changeover.
