The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 81900 is a 6-flute, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding materials including stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and hardened steel. It carries a 1/4 inch mill diameter, a 0.50 mm (0.0200 inch) corner radius, and a 1 inch length of cut, making it well suited for both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. The proprietary Tplus PVD coating improves wear resistance and extends tool life in abrasive and heat-generating applications. Variable pitch geometry reduces harmonic chatter, improving surface finish and dimensional accuracy at aggressive feed rates.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and high-precision toolholders where tight tolerances and surface quality are critical. Primary applications include milling stainless steel, nickel-based superalloys, and hardened steels in aerospace, medical device, and precision manufacturing environments. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, adding versatility for pocketing and contouring operations. The straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance provides consistent runout when seated in collet chucks or milling chucks. The Series HEV-6 designation identifies this tool within the Helical Solutions high-efficiency variable-pitch line.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Suitable for primary workpiece materials including stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials; secondary materials include non-ferrous metals and hard materials. Part of the Helical Solutions HEV-6 series.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Seat the shank fully into a high-precision collet or milling chuck and verify runout does not exceed the specified TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch before cutting. Ensure the toolholder and spindle interface are clean and free of chips or debris prior to assembly. Consult the machine tool manufacturer and Helical Solutions cutting data recommendations for appropriate speeds, feeds, and depth-of-cut parameters for the target workpiece material.
