The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 81842 is a 5-flute, solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. With a 0.25 inch mill diameter and a 1-inch length of cut, it is built for finishing and semi-finishing operations where tool life and surface quality matter. The Tplus coating reduces friction and extends wear resistance in difficult-to-machine alloys. The variable index flute spacing minimizes chatter and vibration, making it well-suited for demanding CNC milling applications. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, aerospace, or fabrication environments will find this end mill a capable and consistent tool.
This end mill is intended for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron in both roughing and finishing contexts where a 1/4 inch diameter tool is appropriate. The single-end, straight shank design mounts directly into standard ER or set-screw toolholders with a 0.25 inch bore. With an overall length of 3.0 inches and right-hand cut and flute direction, it fits conventional vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers. The variable pitch geometry and helical flute profile make it especially effective in stainless and high-temp alloys where harmonics are a concern.
Designed for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Primary workpiece material codes P, M, and K. Part of the Helical Solutions End Mills for Stainless and High Temp 5 Flute Square Variable Pitch series. Fits any toolholder accepting a 0.25 inch straight shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder to the minimum clamping depth recommended by the holder manufacturer to prevent pullout under load. Verify runout at setup with a dial indicator before committing to production cuts in hard or abrasive materials.
