The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 81734 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in steel, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 1/4 inch mill diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.01 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in demanding applications. The 5-flute, variable-pitch, right-hand helical geometry supports both roughing and finishing in a single tool. An APLUS PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection. This end mill is part of the HEV-5 series and is installed by machinists and toolroom professionals in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill suits a wide range of metalworking applications where corner strength and surface finish are priorities. The variable pitch design reduces harmonic chatter, making it effective in aggressive material removal passes as well as finishing cuts. Primary workpiece materials include steel and cast iron. Secondary applications include stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The single-end, centercutting configuration allows plunge entry and versatile tool paths in production and job shop environments. It is recommended for use with high precision toolholders to maintain runout within the 0.0005 inch TIR maximum specification.
Designed for use with high precision toolholders. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS HEV-5 series. Intended for CNC and manual milling applications in steel, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Secure the shank in a high precision toolholder to maintain TIR within specification and prevent premature tool failure. Verify spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut. Consult the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop standards for feed rate, speed, and depth-of-cut parameters appropriate to the workpiece material.
