The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 81561 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for aluminum machining applications. With a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, 2 inch length of cut, and a 45-degree helix angle, this tool is built to handle the chip evacuation and cutting dynamics that aluminum alloys demand. The three-flute geometry provides a balance between chip clearance and tool rigidity, reducing built-up edge and improving surface finish in high-speed aluminum cuts. It is single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute, and features a straight cylindrical shank. The bright/uncoated finish is appropriate for non-ferrous materials where coating adhesion can cause issues. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, aerospace fabrication, and general manufacturing facilities will use this tool regularly.
This end mill is suited for milling slots, pockets, profiles, and contours in aluminum and other non-ferrous materials. The 45-degree helix angle promotes aggressive chip lift and reduces cutting forces, making it effective at higher feed rates typical in aluminum roughing and finishing operations. The 4 inch overall length and 3/4 inch shank diameter allow solid tool holding in standard collet chucks and end mill holders. It is part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS End Mills for Aluminum series, 3 Flute Square 45-degree Helix family.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with standard end mill holders or collet systems accepting a 3/4 inch straight shank. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS End Mills for Aluminum - 3 Flute - Square - 45-degree Helix series.
Install and remove end mills with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per shop safety and OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the tool holder to the minimum engagement depth recommended by the holder manufacturer before torquing the retention mechanism. Inspect the cutting edges and shank for damage or runout before each use. Do not use this uncoated carbide tool on ferrous materials, as it is not designed for that application.
