The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 81522 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in aluminum, non-ferrous metals, steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. It carries a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 0.1250 inch corner radius, and three flutes with a variable pitch and 40-degree high helix geometry. The Zplus PVD coating improves lubricity and wear resistance, making this tool effective for both roughing and finishing operations. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool suited for machinists running high-precision toolholders on CNC machining centers.
This end mill is built for extended-reach applications, with a 2.75 inch reach length and a reduced neck diameter of 0.4750 inches that allows access to deep features and pocketing operations without sacrificing rigidity at the shank. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metal, though the geometry and coating support secondary applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. It fits production and job-shop environments where consistent corner geometry and surface finish are critical. The Series H40ALV-RN-3 designation confirms its placement within the HELICAL SOLUTIONS aluminum-optimized extended-reach line.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are aluminum and non-ferrous metals. Secondary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. Series H40ALV-RN-3.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Seat the 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank fully into a high-precision toolholder and torque the retention mechanism according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Confirm runout does not exceed the 0.0003 inch TIR maximum before beginning a cut. Do not exceed recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material, as solid carbide tooling is brittle and sensitive to interrupted cuts or excessive radial engagement without proper programming.
