The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 81424 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in both roughing and finishing operations. It features a 0.1250 inch mill diameter, a 0.0300 inch corner radius, and three helical flutes with a variable pitch and variable index geometry. The Zplus PVD coating improves lubricity and wear resistance, making this tool well-suited for aluminum and other non-ferrous metals. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 0.5000 inch length of cut, it is a compact, rigid tool built for precision work in tight setups. Maximum TIR is held to 0.0003 inches.
This end mill is primarily intended for machining aluminum and non-ferrous metals, with secondary capability in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloys, and hard materials. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool with right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction, making it compatible with standard CNC milling setups. The Series H40ALV-3 designation places it in Helical Solutions' aluminum-optimized line. It is recommended for use with high-precision toolholders to maintain runout tolerances. Typical users include CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production or prototype environments.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders in CNC milling applications. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metals; secondary materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloys, and hard materials. Part of the Helical Solutions H40ALV-3 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into a high-precision toolholder and torque the collet or set screw per the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout at the cutting edge before initiating a cut, as TIR maximum is 0.0003 inches. Do not exceed the rated length of cut of 0.5000 inches when programming axial depth of cut.
