The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 59958 is a 7-flute, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built on the HEV-7 series platform, it features a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 1.625-inch length of cut, and a 0.0300-inch corner radius with a tight tolerance of -0.0020 to 0.0020 inches. The Tplus PVD coating enhances wear resistance and thermal stability. Variable pitch geometry reduces harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts. This tool is engineered for machinists running stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and hardened steel on CNC machining centers where both roughing and finishing passes are required.
The 59958 is suited for precision CNC milling applications in aerospace, medical, die and mold, and general precision machining shops. It excels in materials classified under ISO material groups M (stainless steel), S (high-temperature alloy), and H (hard material), with secondary capability in P (steel) and K (cast iron). The single-end design and straight cylindrical shank pair well with high-precision toolholders such as shrink-fit or hydraulic chuck systems. The 4-inch overall length provides adequate reach for most standard fixturing setups without compromising rigidity.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and hardened steel. Secondary workpiece materials include steel and cast iron.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Secure the shank in a high-precision toolholder to the toolholder manufacturer's specified runout requirements — TIR maximum for this tool is 0.0005 inches. Confirm spindle orientation and cut direction match the right-hand configuration of this end mill before initiating the program. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the target workpiece material.
