The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 59945 is a 7-flute solid carbide square end mill engineered for demanding milling applications in stainless steel and high-temperature alloys. With a 0.5-inch mill diameter and a 0.625-inch length of cut, it delivers aggressive material removal while maintaining tight tolerances. The variable-pitch flute spacing reduces harmonic vibration during high-speed cutting, extending tool life and improving surface finish. A Tplus coating adds wear resistance and helps shed heat generated when machining tough workpiece materials. This tool is used by machinists and CNC operators working in precision manufacturing environments.
This end mill is designed for high-feed roughing and finishing passes on stainless steel, nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and similar hard-to-machine materials. The right-hand cutting and right-hand helical flute geometry are suited to conventional CNC milling setups. With a straight-cylindrical 0.5-inch shank and a 2.5-inch overall length, it fits standard ER collet chucks and shrink-fit holders commonly used in vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Part of the Helical Solutions End Mills for Stainless and High Temp 7 Flute Square Variable Pitch series. Designed for use in CNC machining centers with 0.5-inch collet or toolholder bores; confirm runout and holder specifications before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before loading or changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or toolholder to the recommended gauge-line depth and torque the retention nut per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify tool runout with a dial indicator before starting the cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on multi-flute carbide tools.
