The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 59877 is a 5-flute, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. It features a 1/2-inch diameter, a 1-1/4-inch length of cut, and a 0.03-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The Tplus PVD coating provides enhanced wear resistance and heat dissipation. With a variable index pitch and right-hand helical flutes, this tool is engineered for both roughing and finishing operations in a single setup. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in precision machine shops.
This end mill is optimized for primary use in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, with secondary application capability in non-ferrous metals and hard materials. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, and the straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with high-precision toolholders. The regular-length flute configuration suits general-purpose milling, slotting, profiling, and contouring in vertical and horizontal machining centers. It is part of the HEV-5 series, which is purpose-built for difficult-to-machine workpiece materials.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Optimized for milling stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium as primary workpiece materials, with secondary suitability for non-ferrous metals and hard materials. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS HEV-5 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool path program is verified before securing the shank in the toolholder. Use a high-precision collet or hydraulic toolholder to maintain TIR within the specified maximum of 0.0005 inches. Follow the cutting tool manufacturer feed-and-speed recommendations for the specific workpiece material to avoid premature coating wear or edge failure.
