The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 59862 is a 5-flute, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. It features a 1/4-inch mill diameter, a 0.03-inch corner radius, and a 1/2-inch length of cut. The Tplus PVD coating provides enhanced wear resistance and heat dissipation, making this tool well-suited for stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. With a variable index, right-hand cutting and flute direction, and centercutting capability, it handles both roughing and finishing operations. Machinists and CNC programmers working in precision shops, aerospace, and industrial manufacturing will find this tool fits into demanding toolpath strategies.
This end mill is targeted at applications requiring tight tolerances and reliable performance in difficult-to-machine materials. The variable pitch design helps reduce harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It is also rated for secondary use in non-ferrous metals and hard materials. The straight-cylindrical shank and spiral flute geometry make it compatible with high-precision toolholders used in modern CNC machining centers. It is a single-end tool, so the cutting end should be inspected and replaced when worn rather than reversed.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders on CNC machining centers. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (material codes M and S). Secondary workpiece materials include non-ferrous metals and hard materials (material codes N and H). Part of the HEV-5 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully and evenly in a high-precision toolholder and verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005-inch maximum TIR specification before running. Confirm spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut are set per the shop's material-specific feeds and speeds data for carbide end mills in the target workpiece material. Do not exceed the rated length of cut of 0.5 inches to avoid overloading the flutes or deflecting the tool.
