The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 59445 is a 6-flute solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys including titanium. The 3/8-inch diameter cutting geometry features a 0.1875-inch nose radius and a 1-1/2-inch length of cut, giving it the reach and rigidity needed for both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. An APLUS PVD coating reduces heat buildup and extends tool life in demanding ferrous and exotic-alloy applications. The variable-index flute spacing reduces harmonic chatter, improving surface finish at higher feed rates. This tool is part of the HEV-6 series and is a single-end, right-hand cut configuration with a straight cylindrical shank.
The 59445 is suited for CNC machining centers running steel components, tool steel dies, cast iron housings, and titanium or high-temp alloy parts. With a 37-degree helix angle and center-cutting capability, it handles full-width slotting, profiling, and 3D contouring passes without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The standard-length 3-1/2-inch overall length fits most BT, CAT, and HSK toolholders with a 3/8-inch bore. Typical applications include mold and die work, aerospace structural components, and general precision machining of ferrous metals.
Designed for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys including titanium. Primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, and S. Fits standard 3/8-inch straight-bore toolholders.
Installation is performed by a CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the toolholder bore is clean and free of chips before seating the shank; shank diameter tolerance is h6 for precise runout control, and maximum TIR is 0.0005 inches. Confirm proper tool projection and torque the retention knob or collet nut to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Do not exceed the cutter manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type.
