The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 59415 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for aggressive roughing in steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and superalloys including titanium. It runs a 3/4 inch diameter with a 0.03 inch corner radius, 5 variable-pitch flutes, and an APLUS PVD coating engineered for extended tool life in high-heat, high-load cuts. The chipbreaker geometry breaks chips into manageable segments, reducing re-cutting and heat buildup during long passes. At 2.25 inches length of cut and 5 inches overall length, this is a standard-reach tool suited for production milling where metal removal rate and tool longevity both matter. Licensed machinists and CNC setup technicians are the primary users.
This end mill targets ferrous roughing operations on CNC machining centers. Primary workpiece materials are low-alloy steel, medium alloy steel, tool steel, and cast iron. Secondary applications include stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The variable pitch flute spacing reduces chatter harmonics, making it well-suited for setups where rigidity is limited or depth-of-cut is pushed. The centercutting design allows plunge entry. It is specified for use with high precision toolholders to maintain runout within the 0.0005 inch TIR maximum. This tool belongs to the HEV-C-5 series of variable-pitch chipbreaker roughers.
Designed for use with high precision toolholders. Rated for primary use in steel and cast iron (ISO material groups P and K) and secondary use in stainless steel and superalloys including titanium (ISO material groups M and S). Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS HEV-C-5 series.
Installation is performed by a CNC machinist or tooling technician. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into a high precision collet chuck or shrink-fit holder and confirm runout does not exceed 0.0005 inch TIR before cutting. Verify spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines and shop-standard feeds and speeds for the specific workpiece material and depth of cut.
