The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 59321 is a 6-flute corner radius end mill ground from solid carbide and coated with a proprietary APLUS PVD coating. It carries a 1/2-inch mill diameter, a 0.0600-inch corner radius, and a 5/8-inch length of cut, making it well suited for both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. The 2.5-inch overall length and straight cylindrical 1/2-inch shank keep the tool compact for stub-length reach applications. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute spiral combine with a variable pitch design to reduce harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts.
This end mill is built for machining steel, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It belongs to the HEV-6 series and is intended for use in high-precision toolholders on CNC machining centers running demanding ferrous and exotic-material programs. The variable index geometry distributes cutting forces unevenly around the cutter body, suppressing vibration during deep-side or full-slot passes. It is a single-end, centercutting design, allowing plunge entry where required.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include low-alloy steel, medium alloy steel, tool steel, and cast iron (ISO material codes P and K). Secondary materials include stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO codes M, N, S, and H).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Seat the straight cylindrical shank fully in a high-precision collet or shrink-fit toolholder and verify runout against the TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches before running the spindle. Confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping specifications; do not overtighten set-screw holders against the shank as this can induce runout or damage the shank diameter tolerance (h6).
