The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 56677 is a solid carbide, 4-flute ball end mill designed for high-performance milling in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. It features a 3/4 inch mill diameter, a 2-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 5 inch overall length with a 3/4 inch straight cylindrical shank. The tool carries an APLUS PVD coating engineered for wear resistance in ferrous materials. A variable index flute geometry reduces harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts, making it suitable for both roughing and finishing passes. This end mill is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals operating CNC machining centers.
This end mill is well-suited for milling steel alloys, tool steels, stainless steel, and cast iron in production or job-shop environments. The single-end, right-hand cutting configuration is standard for CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers. The 2-1/4 inch reach length supports moderate-depth cavity work, profiling, and contouring operations where a ball nose profile is required. It is classified under ISO material groups P, M, and K, covering a broad range of ferrous workpiece materials encountered in industrial machining.
Designed for use on CNC machining centers with standard straight-bore tool holders accepting a 3/4 inch shank. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces as indicated by ISO material group codes P, M, and K. Part of the Helical Solutions 4 Flute Ball Variable Pitch Aplus series for steels, tool steels, and cast iron.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC tooling and holder runout specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is in a safe state before installing or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the tool holder to the recommended gauge-line depth and verify TIR does not exceed 0.0005 inches as specified. Follow all applicable shop safety procedures and machine-builder guidelines when setting tool offsets and feeds.
