The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 56337 is a 4-flute, solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling of steels, stainless steels, tool steels, and cast iron. It carries a 3/8-inch mill diameter with a 1-inch length of cut and a 3-inch overall length. The APLUS PVD coating improves heat resistance and wear life in ferrous materials. Variable index flute spacing reduces harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts, making this tool well-suited for both roughing and finishing passes. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in job shop or production environments will find this tool a direct fit for demanding steel-cutting applications.
This end mill is built for cutting steel, stainless steel, tool steels, and cast iron in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The single-end, straight-cylindrical shank with a 3/8-inch shank diameter mounts directly into standard collets and end mill holders. The standard-length design fits typical vertical and horizontal machining center setups without requiring extended-reach toolholders. It handles both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool, reducing the need for multiple setups on ferrous workpieces.
Designed for use with steel (P), stainless steel (M), and cast iron (K) workpiece materials as defined by ISO material classification codes. Compatible with standard 3/8-inch collets, ER collet chucks, and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout against the published TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches before beginning the cut. Inspect the cutting edges for coating damage or chipping before each use, particularly after interrupted cuts in hardened steels.
