The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 56152 is a 4-flute solid carbide ball end mill designed for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron in demanding production environments. The 1/4 inch diameter cutting head features a 3/4 inch length of cut, a 0.125 inch nose radius, and a variable index flute geometry that reduces chatter and improves surface finish. An APLUS PVD coating increases surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in abrasive ferrous materials. The straight cylindrical 1/4 inch shank seats securely in standard collet chucks and end mill holders. This tool handles both roughing and finishing passes, making it a practical single-tool option for complex contoured features in steel components.
The 56152 is suited for CNC machining centers and knee mills where operators are cutting hardened tool steels, structural steels, stainless steels, and cast iron. The variable index design distributes cutting forces unevenly across flutes, suppressing harmonic vibration during full-slot or profile milling passes. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 3/4 inch reach length, the tool maintains rigidity in close-tolerance work. It is a single-end tool, so the full shank is available for clamping. Typical users include machinist shops, toolrooms, and production floors running ferrous alloy parts.
Designed for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces. Rated for primary workpiece material codes P, M, and K per ISO material classification. Fits any standard 1/4 inch collet, end mill holder, or shrink-fit toolholder accepting a straight cylindrical shank with h6 shank diameter tolerance.
Installation and use of this end mill should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or collet nut is properly torqued according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications before starting the spindle. Confirm runout does not exceed the 0.0005 inch TIR maximum before production cuts. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut being used.
