The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 56017 is a 4-flute solid carbide ball end mill designed for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. It carries a 0.1250-inch mill diameter with a 0.2500-inch length of cut and a 1.5000-inch overall length. The APLUS PVD coating improves wear resistance and heat management in ferrous metal applications. Variable index geometry reduces chatter and harmonic vibration during both roughing and finishing passes. A 0.0625-inch nose radius and right-hand helical flutes are standard. This tool is sold as a single-end, straight-cylindrical shank cutter and is installed by machinists and tooling technicians in CNC milling operations.
This end mill is suited for precision milling in steel, stainless steel, tool steels, and cast iron. Its compact 0.1250-inch diameter makes it appropriate for fine-feature work, contour milling, and slotting in tight geometries. The variable pitch design targets chatter suppression in demanding ferrous cutting environments. It is used in both job shop and production environments where consistent tool life and surface finish are required in steel-family materials.
Designed for use in steel, stainless steel, tool steels, and cast iron workpiece materials. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS End Mills for Steels series, 4 Flute Ball Variable Pitch with APLUS coating. Compatible with standard CNC milling machine spindles accepting a 0.1250-inch straight shank with h6 shank diameter tolerance.
This tool is installed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians into compatible tool holders rated for the 0.1250-inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle and tool holder are clean and free of debris before seating the tool. Verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005-inch TIR maximum specification before beginning a cut. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and shop safety procedures when handling carbide cutting tools.
