The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 53241 is a solid carbide, four-flute corner radius end mill built for demanding material removal in steel, cast iron, and titanium applications. It carries a 0.5 inch mill diameter with a 0.625 inch length of cut and a 6 inch overall length, making it well suited for extended-reach machining where standard-length tools fall short. The APLUS PVD coating improves wear resistance and surface finish across a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. A variable pitch geometry reduces harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts. This tool handles both roughing and finishing operations in a single setup.
The 53241 is designed for CNC milling centers running high-precision toolholders. Its extended reach length of 3.375 inches allows access to deep pockets and stepped features without requiring a long-reach adapter. The 0.020 inch corner radius protects the cutting edge at depth and leaves a controlled blend radius on workpiece floors and walls. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting geometry are standard for conventional climb-milling programs. Primary material applications include low-alloy steel, medium alloy steel, tool steel, cast iron, and titanium, making it a versatile choice for mold, die, and aerospace component work.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Shank diameter is 0.5 inch with an h6 shank diameter tolerance, suitable for standard collet chucks, hydraulic chucks, and shrink-fit holders accepting a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Confirm runout does not exceed the specified TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch after tool installation. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for feed rate, depth of cut, and spindle speed when engaging titanium or hardened steel workpieces.
