The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 50092 is a 5-flute, single-end square end mill engineered for aggressive material removal in ferrous applications. Built from solid carbide and finished with an APLUS coating, it delivers extended tool life and thermal resistance in demanding cutting environments. The cutter measures 3/16 inches in diameter with a 7/32-inch length of cut, a 1-1/8-inch reach length, and a 2-1/2-inch overall length. The variable index flute geometry reduces harmonic chatter, making it well suited for high-speed milling passes in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in job shop and production environments are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron in both roughing and finishing operations where a reduced-neck profile is required to maintain clearance in deeper pockets or shoulder features. The reduced neck and extended reach of 1-1/8 inches allow access to features that standard-reach tools cannot reach without interference. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard. The APLUS coating improves lubricity and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures, making it effective in both dry and light-coolant machining strategies. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool.
Designed for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces; part of the Helical Solutions End Mills for Steels - 5 Flute - Square - Variable Pitch - Reduced Neck series.
Install in a compatible 3/16-inch straight-shank tool holder using appropriate collet or end mill holder; verify runout before full-depth cuts. Power down and lockout the machine spindle before changing tooling. Follow the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material and coating type. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace the tool when surface finish or dimensional accuracy degrades.
