The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 49105 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for cutting aluminum alloys and non-ferrous materials in milling applications. It features a 1/4 inch cutting diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 40-degree helix angle optimized for chip evacuation in softer, gummy metals. The three-flute configuration balances material removal rate with surface finish quality. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for non-ferrous work where coating adhesion or chemical reactivity with aluminum is a concern. This tool is used by machinists in CNC milling operations across job shops, aerospace fabrication, and general metalworking environments.
This ball end mill is suited for roughing and finishing passes in aluminum alloys and non-ferrous metals. The single-end, right-hand cutting geometry and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC vertical and horizontal milling setups. The 2.5 inch overall length and straight cylindrical shank at 1/4 inch diameter allow direct mounting in standard collet chucks or end mill holders commonly found in production and prototype machining environments.
Designed for use in CNC milling applications involving aluminum alloys and non-ferrous materials. The 1/4 inch straight cylindrical shank is compatible with standard ER collet systems and end mill holders accepting 1/4 inch shanks.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and machine power is in a safe state before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended gauge line depth before tightening. Verify runout with a dial indicator after mounting, as maximum TIR for this tool is 0.0003 inches.
