The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 48326 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in both roughing and finishing operations. Built to the H40ALV-3 series specification, it features a 3/8-inch diameter, a 1-1/2-inch length of cut, and a 0.060-inch corner radius. The 40-degree high-helix geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation while reducing cutting forces. A Zplus PVD coating extends tool life across a range of workpiece materials. With a variable pitch design and centercutting capability, this end mill handles full-slot and plunge entry without tool changes. It is sized for straight-cylindrical shank toolholders in CNC machining centers.
This end mill is primarily suited for aluminum and non-ferrous metals, where the high-helix geometry and Zplus coating deliver clean surface finishes and reduced built-up edge. Secondary applications include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. Typical installation scenarios include production CNC milling, die and mold work, and general-purpose contouring where both roughing and finishing passes are required in a single tool. The long flute length of 1-1/2 inches supports deep sidewall passes common in aerospace and precision machining applications.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. The 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance is compatible with standard ER collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and hydraulic chucks accepting 3/8-inch shank tooling.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Verify toolholder runout meets or is below the 0.0003-inch TIR maximum before production use to protect the corner radius geometry. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications when clamping collet nuts or set screws.
