The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 48125 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for aluminum and non-ferrous metal machining. It features a 1/4 inch mill diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in high-throughput applications. The three-flute, variable-pitch design suppresses harmonic chatter without sacrificing chip evacuation, making it well-suited for both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. It is used by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals running modern vertical and horizontal machining centers.
This end mill belongs to HELICAL SOLUTIONS Series H40ALV-3, specifically developed for aluminum and non-ferrous metals as a primary workpiece material. Secondary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloys, and hard materials. The 40-degree high helix geometry promotes aggressive chip lift out of the cut, which is critical when machining soft, gummy aluminum alloys where chip re-cutting causes surface finish degradation and tool wear. It is a single-end, centercutting tool capable of plunge entries and is compatible with high precision toolholders for best runout performance.
Designed for use with high precision toolholders. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metal; secondary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloys, and hard materials. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS H40ALV-3 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist following the toolholder manufacturer torque and runout specifications. Verify maximum TIR does not exceed 0.0003 inches at setup using a dial test indicator before beginning a cut. Ensure the spindle and all axis drives are fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Follow shop-specific feeds and speeds guidelines for the workpiece material and depth of cut being applied.
