The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 46591 is a 3-flute, solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. The tool features a 3/4-inch mill diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 40-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup at the cutting edge. A Zplus coating provides additional lubricity and wear resistance. Variable pitch flute indexing minimizes chatter and vibration during aggressive cuts. The reduced neck geometry extends reach to 3.375 inches, making it well suited for deep-cavity work where standard-reach tooling falls short. This end mill is single-end, right-hand cut, and right-hand flute. It ships individually and is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for aluminum roughing and finishing operations in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The variable index design and 40-degree helix are optimized for aluminum alloys, where chip clearing and surface finish are critical. The extended reach and reduced neck allow access to deep pockets, slots, and contoured features that standard-length tooling cannot reach. It is a fit for aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing applications where aluminum removal rates and finish quality are both priorities.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS End Mills for Aluminum series featuring 3-flute, square-end, 40-degree variable pitch reduced neck geometry.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine fully powered down and spindle locked. Use a calibrated tool holder appropriate for 3/4-inch straight-cylindrical shanks and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for aluminum end milling. Secure the tool to the specified clamping torque for the holder type in use.
