The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 46411 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in aluminum, non-ferrous metals, steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. It carries a 0.5000-inch mill diameter, a 0.0900-inch corner radius, and a Zplus PVD coating engineered for extended tool life and chip evacuation. The extra-long overall length of 6 inches and a 4.25-inch reach make it well suited for deep-cavity and extended-reach applications. With 3 flutes, a variable pitch, and a high helix angle of 40 degrees, this tool balances aggressive material removal with a quality surface finish in a single operation.
This end mill is built for both roughing and finishing passes in precision machining environments. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry, and the extended reach supports deep-pocket work on multi-axis machining centers. It is intended for use with high-precision toolholders to maintain the maximum TIR of 0.0003 inches. Machinists working with aluminum and non-ferrous materials as a primary application will find this tool optimized for those substrates, while the Zplus coating also supports secondary use in steel, stainless, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Suitable for CNC milling applications involving aluminum, non-ferrous metals, steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS H40ALV-RN-3 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Secure the shank fully in a high-precision toolholder to maintain the specified TIR and prevent runout-induced edge chipping. Verify spindle and tool assembly are within machine clearances before running at operating speeds, especially given the extended reach of this tool. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping guidelines for 0.5000-inch straight-cylindrical shanks.
