The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 46376 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding shop environments. It features a 1/2-inch cutting diameter, a 0.0600-inch corner radius, and three flutes with a variable index configuration for reduced harmonics and improved surface finish. The 40-degree high helix geometry and Zplus PVD coating make it well suited for aggressive material removal and finish passes in a single tool. At 5 inches overall length with a 3-3/8-inch reach, this is a long-reach tool built for deep-pocket and extended-reach applications. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers are the primary users.
This end mill is rated primarily for aluminum and non-ferrous metals, with secondary capability in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry. The single-end, right-hand cut configuration is standard for most vertical and horizontal CNC machining center setups. It is engineered for use with high-precision toolholders to take full advantage of its 0.0003-inch maximum TIR specification. The H40ALV-RN-3 series targets shops that require one tool to handle both roughing and finishing operations.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS H40ALV-RN-3 series. Primary workpiece material code N (aluminum and non-ferrous metals); secondary material codes P, M, S, and H cover steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Seat the shank fully in a high-precision toolholder and verify runout does not exceed the 0.0003-inch TIR maximum before cutting. Confirm spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut are within the parameters recommended for the workpiece material before engaging the cut. Do not exceed the tool's reach or use a toolholder with inadequate clamping force, as either condition increases risk of deflection or tool pull-out.
