The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 35122 is a 5-flute solid carbide corner radius end mill built for high-performance milling in steels, cast iron, stainless steel, and superalloys. It carries a 0.25 inch mill diameter, a 0.375 inch length of cut, and a 0.50 mm (0.0200 inch) corner radius. The Aplus PVD coating improves wear resistance and heat dissipation, extending tool life in demanding ferrous applications. Variable-pitch flute spacing reduces chatter and harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts. The reduced neck geometry and 1.125 inch reach length allow access to deeper features without sacrificing rigidity. This tool is designed for machinists and tooling professionals running CNC milling operations in job shops and production environments.
The 35122 belongs to the HEV-RN-5 series, engineered specifically for roughing and finishing operations in low-alloy steel, medium alloy steel, tool steel, and cast iron as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The single-end, center-cutting design supports full plunge entry and conventional or climb milling passes. Extended reach geometry makes it well suited for pocketing, slotting, and profiling where standard-length tools cannot reach the floor of the feature. High-precision toolholders are recommended to maintain runout within the 0.0005 inch TIR maximum specification.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Suitable for CNC milling applications in steel, cast iron, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS HEV-RN-5 series for 5-flute variable-pitch reduced-neck end mills.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician setting up a CNC milling machine. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. A high-precision toolholder is recommended to maintain runout at or below the 0.0005 inch TIR maximum. Verify toolholder clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before beginning a cut.
