The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 34122 is a 5-flute solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in steel, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. It carries a 0.50 mm (0.0200 inch) corner radius and is finished with an APLUS PVD coating for extended tool life in demanding cutting environments. The 1/4 inch diameter tool has a 1/2 inch length of cut and a 2.5 inch overall length with a straight cylindrical 1/4 inch shank. Built for both roughing and finishing operations, this end mill suits applications where edge integrity and dimensional consistency are critical. It is single-end, centercutting, and features a variable pitch, right-hand spiral flute geometry suited to high-precision toolholders.
The 34122 fits into the HEV-5 series product line and is intended for use in machining centers and CNC milling equipment where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are required. Primary material applications include steel and cast iron, with secondary capability across stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool path program is verified before loading the end mill into the toolholder. Use a high-precision collet or shrink-fit holder to stay within the TIR specification of 0.0005 inch maximum. Follow the tooling manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and do not exceed the rated depth of cut for the listed length of cut.
