The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 29512 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in aluminum and non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 5/8-inch cutting diameter, a 0.0300-inch corner radius, and three flutes arranged in a right-hand spiral with a 45-degree high helix angle. The Zplus PVD coating reduces built-up edge and extends tool life in non-ferrous cuts. With a 2.125-inch length of cut and 4-inch overall length, this single-end, centercutting tool handles both slotting and profiling operations. It is designed for use with high-precision toolholders to maintain runout within 0.0003 inches TIR.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining operations in job shops, aerospace component shops, and production environments cutting aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and select ferrous materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. The coarse pitch and chipbreaker geometry support aggressive roughing passes while managing chip evacuation. It is a single-end tool and is not intended for double-end indexing. Straight-cylindrical shank diameter of 5/8 inch fits standard ER and hydraulic toolholders specified for high-precision work.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metal (Material Code N). Secondary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials (Material Codes P, M, S, H). Part of the H45AL-C-3 series.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified CNC machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine in an e-stop or locked-out state per shop safety procedures. This tool requires a high-precision toolholder - standard set-screw holders are not recommended given the 0.0003-inch maximum TIR specification. Inspect the straight-cylindrical shank for nicks or contamination before seating in the collet or hydraulic chuck. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended cutting parameters for the target workpiece material.
