The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 29392 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in aluminum and non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius that protects the cutting edge and improves surface finish at part transitions. The tool runs a 3-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 45-degree high helix angle, optimizing chip evacuation in gummy, long-chipping materials. A proprietary Zplus PVD coating reduces built-up edge and extends tool life. This is a single-end, centercutting tool suited for plunge entry, profiling, and roughing passes. Machinists and CNC programmers in production and job-shop environments will find this tool well matched to aluminum structural and aerospace work.
The 29392 is rated primarily for aluminum and non-ferrous metals, with secondary capability in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. Its coarse pitch and chipbreaker geometry support aggressive roughing passes where chip volume is high. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in high-precision toolholders, making it compatible with shrink-fit, hydraulic, and precision collet chuck systems. It is a single-end tool with no extended reach, keeping runout minimal in standard setups. This end mill is a fit for horizontal and vertical machining centers running aluminum aerospace components, mold bases, and structural profiles.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders including shrink-fit, hydraulic, and precision collet chuck systems. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS H45AL-C-3 series, intended for aluminum and non-ferrous primary applications with secondary use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the shank. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before cutting, as the 0.0003 inch maximum TIR spec requires a high-precision toolholder in good condition. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool, so direct external coolant or mist lubrication should be directed at the cutting zone during operation.
