The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 28122 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in aluminum and non-ferrous metals. It features a 1/4 inch cutting diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 0.50 mm (0.0200 inch) corner radius that reduces edge chipping and improves surface finish on part corners. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral geometry paired with a 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation at aggressive feed rates. A Zplus PVD coating adds lubricity and wear resistance, making this tool well suited for high-speed aluminum finishing and roughing passes where tool life and surface quality both matter. Licensed machinists and CNC tool-and-die operators are the primary users of this cutter.
This end mill is designed for primary use in aluminum and non-ferrous metal machining, with secondary capability in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and hard materials. The extended reach design, with a 1-1/8 inch reach length and a 0.2370 inch neck diameter, allows access to deeper pockets and stepped features without tool interference. The straight cylindrical shank (1/4 inch diameter) seats in high-precision toolholders, and the centercutting geometry permits plunge entry. Series H45AL-C-RN-3 identifies this cutter within the Helical Solutions aluminum-optimized line.

Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tool-and-die technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle locked before inserting or removing the cutter. Seat the straight shank fully in a high-precision toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout does not exceed the 0.0003 inch TIR maximum before beginning a cut.
