The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 06168 is a solid carbide chamfer mill designed for creating chamfers, bevels, and deburring edges in precision machining applications. This single-end tool features a 0.5 inch cutter head diameter with a 90-degree included angle and an Aplus coating that improves tool life and wear resistance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With 4 flutes and a 0.25 inch length of cut, it delivers clean, consistent chamfer geometry on machined parts. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard CNC and manual milling setups. At 0.289 pounds and 3 inches overall length, this tool fits most standard tool holders and machining centers used by machinists across production and job shop environments.
This chamfer mill is suited for use in CNC milling centers and manual mills where precise edge preparation is required. Typical applications include chamfering drilled holes, deburring part edges, and creating lead-in angles on workpieces in steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and other machinable materials. The 0.5 inch shank diameter allows direct mounting in standard end mill holders, collet chucks, and hydraulic toolholders without adapters. It is commonly specified in aerospace, automotive, die and mold, and general precision machining shops where repeatable chamfer geometry is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chamfer mill for use in standard 0.5 inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and hydraulic toolholders on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before loading or removing the tool. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the recommended engagement depth per the toolholder manufacturer guidelines. Verify runout after installation before engaging a cut to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
