The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 04327 is a 3-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. It carries a 0.5-inch cutting diameter with a 0.625-inch length of cut and an extended reach design with a 4.25-inch reach length. The Zplus coating provides lubricity and edge protection suited to aluminum alloys, helping prevent built-up edge and extending tool life in production environments. The 35-degree right-hand helix promotes efficient chip evacuation, which is critical when running aluminum at aggressive feed rates. This tool is installed and run by machinists, CNC operators, and tool-and-die professionals.
The 04327 is purpose-built for aluminum milling applications where reduced-neck geometry is required to access deeper features without tool deflection. The extended reach and 4.25-inch reduced neck make it appropriate for mold cavities, pockets, and aerospace or automotive components with significant depth-to-diameter requirements. The straight cylindrical shank seats in standard ER collets, end mill holders, or shrink-fit toolholding. The 6-inch overall length gives clearance for deep-reach setups while the solid carbide construction maintains rigidity.
Designed as a reduced-neck, extended-reach square end mill for aluminum and non-ferrous milling operations; compatible with any standard 0.5-inch straight-shank toolholding including ER collets, Weldon holders, and shrink-fit chucks.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Confirm proper insertion depth per the toolholder manufacturer specification, and torque collet nuts or set screws to the toolholder manufacturer guidelines. Verify runout with a dial indicator before full-production cutting to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
