The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 03347 is a 3-flute, solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It carries a 3/8-inch cutting diameter with a 1-inch length of cut and a 45-degree helix angle, which promotes aggressive chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. The Zplus coating improves hardness and heat resistance at the cutting edge, extending tool life in demanding applications. This end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge entry, and features a straight-cylindrical shank for standard collet or end mill holder retention. Metalworking machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for profiling, slotting, and pocketing operations on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The 45-degree helical flute geometry helps manage chip load in steels, stainless alloys, aluminum, and plastics. With a 3-inch overall length and a 3/8-inch shank diameter matching the cutting diameter, it provides a balanced reach-to-rigidity ratio appropriate for standard-depth cavity work and side-wall finishing passes.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank to the recommended minimum engagement depth in the holder, typically no less than the shank diameter, to avoid deflection under cutting load. Inspect the collet or holder bore for runout before tightening.
