The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 03165 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance aluminum milling applications. Built with 3 helical flutes at a 45-degree helix angle, this tool promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action in non-ferrous materials. The mill measures 0.25 inches in diameter with a 0.75-inch length of cut and a 2.5-inch overall length. The straight cylindrical shank is 0.25 inches in diameter, making it compatible with standard collet and end mill holder setups. The bright uncoated finish is well suited for aluminum, where coating adhesion can sometimes cause built-up edge. This end mill is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry into the workpiece.
This end mill is engineered specifically for aluminum and other soft, non-ferrous materials where chip load management and flute geometry are critical to finish quality and tool life. It is part of the Helical Solutions End Mills for Aluminum - 3 Flute - Square - 45 Degree Helix series. Typical applications include profiling, slotting, and pocketing in aluminum plate, extrusions, and castings in job shop, aerospace, and general manufacturing environments. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the industry-standard orientation for conventional CNC milling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement end mill for use in standard 0.25-inch collets, ER collet chucks, and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Part of the Helical Solutions End Mills for Aluminum - 3 Flute - Square - 45 Degree Helix series.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with cutting tool setup and machine operation. Secure the shank fully within the collet or tool holder to the recommended gauge line before tightening to manufacturer torque specifications for the holder type in use. Inspect the tool for chips or cracks before each use and never run a damaged end mill. Follow applicable shop safety practices and machine guarding requirements during operation.
