The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 03152 is a 3-flute solid carbide square end mill engineered for aluminum milling applications. With a 1/4 inch cutting diameter and a 45-degree helix angle, it promotes aggressive chip evacuation and smooth cutting action in non-ferrous materials. The Zplus coating reduces built-up edge and extends tool life in aluminum, brass, and similar soft alloys. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 1/4 inch in diameter, making it compatible with standard collet and end mill holders. Machinists and CNC operators use this tool in production and job-shop environments where clean surface finish and efficient material removal in aluminum are priorities.
This end mill is suited for face milling, slotting, and profiling aluminum and other non-ferrous workpieces in both 3-axis and multi-axis CNC machining centers. The single-end, center-cutting design allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral cuts. It fits into standard 1/4 inch toolholders and works well in high-RPM spindle setups typically used when cutting aluminum alloys. The 3/8 inch length of cut and 2 inch overall length make it a compact choice for shallow-to-moderate depth passes where rigidity and chatter resistance matter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-production end mill for use in 1/4 inch collets, end mill holders, and hydraulic or shrink-fit toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with toolholder torque procedures and runout requirements. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an energy-isolated state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the minimum clamping depth to avoid tool pullout under load. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run, especially at high spindle speeds typical of aluminum machining.
