The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 01377 is a single-end square end mill engineered for high-performance milling in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/8-inch mill diameter, a 1-1/2-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length with a matching 3/8-inch straight shank. The tool is ground from solid carbide and carries a Zplus (ZrN) coating, which reduces built-up edge and extends tool life in gummy, non-ferrous alloys. A 35-degree right-hand helical flute geometry promotes aggressive chip evacuation while keeping cutting forces manageable. This end mill is used by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals running production and prototype work on aluminum plate, billet, and extrusions.
This end mill is suited for pocketing, profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling operations on aluminum and other non-ferrous workpiece materials. Its three-flute, center-cutting design allows plunge entry and delivers a balance between chip load capacity and surface finish quality. The 35-degree helix angle is optimized for the lower cutting forces and higher feed rates typical in aluminum machining. It is a single-end tool, so it is replaced rather than reground when cutting edges are spent.
Designed for use in aluminum and non-ferrous workpiece materials; part of the Helical Solutions End Mills for Aluminum - 3 Flute - Square - 35 degree Helix series. Fits standard 3/8-inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state per shop lockout procedures. Ensure the collet or toolholder is clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Torque toolholder fasteners according to the toolholder manufacturer specification, not this tool. Consult speeds-and-feeds data published by Helical Solutions for the specific workpiece material and depth of cut before first use.
