The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 01195 is a 3-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance aluminum milling. With a 1/4 inch (0.25 inches) mill diameter and a 35-degree right-hand helix angle, this tool is engineered to evacuate chips efficiently in non-ferrous materials. The bright, uncoated finish reduces built-up edge when cutting aluminum, while the helical flute geometry promotes smooth cutting action. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.25 inches and the overall tool length is 3 inches, making it well-suited for reach-sensitive setups in production or job shop environments. This is a center-cutting tool, allowing plunge entry into the workpiece.
This end mill is intended for aluminum and other non-ferrous machining applications in CNC milling centers, vertical mills, and similar machine tools. The 1-1/4 inch length of cut supports slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in aluminum extrusions, plate stock, and cast components. The 3-flute configuration balances chip load capacity with flute-valley volume, which is particularly advantageous when milling softer, gummy materials that require strong chip clearance. It is typically selected by machinists and tool-and-die professionals running aluminum finishing or semi-finishing passes.
Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS End Mills for Aluminum 3 Flute Square 35 Degree Helix series. Fits standard 1/4 inch straight-bore tool holders including ER collet chucks and set-screw holders used on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of chips or debris before inserting the shank. Tighten the collet or set-screw holder to the tool holder manufacturer's specified torque using the appropriate spanner or hex key. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and reduces surface finish quality.
