The HELI-COIL 4238-5 is a tang break off tool designed for use with M5 metric coarse thread inserts. After a wire thread insert is installed, the installation tang must be broken off to complete the repair. This tool applies targeted force at the notch of the tang, snapping it cleanly without damaging the newly installed insert or the parent material. It is a required finish step in any HELI-COIL thread repair procedure on M5 metric coarse threaded holes. Installation Notes
