The HEIL evm5x60m24a is a cased V-type evaporator coil rated at 5 tons and 60,000 BTU/h, designed for split-system residential and light-commercial HVAC applications. It uses Power-V technology, a V-shape coil geometry that increases surface area for improved heat transfer efficiency. The coil is constructed with aluminum fins over a steel cabinet with a galvanized finish, offering corrosion resistance and durability. Refrigerant type is R-454B, an A2L low-GWP refrigerant increasingly specified in modern residential systems. Licensed HVAC technicians install and commission this coil as part of a matched split system.
The evm5x60m24a is built for multipoise installation, meaning a single coil supports upflow, downflow, horizontal, and vertical configurations. This flexibility makes it well suited for a wide range of residential and light-commercial duct system layouts where the air handler orientation may vary by installation site. The cased design simplifies field installation by arriving factory-assembled and ready to connect. Systems using R-454B refrigerant require equipment and service practices appropriate for A2L refrigerants, including technicians trained and certified for that refrigerant class.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation evaporator coil for residential and light-commercial split HVAC systems using R-454B refrigerant at 5-ton capacity.
Installation must be performed by an EPA Section 608-certified HVAC technician with appropriate certification for A2L refrigerants. Shut down and lock out the air handler and disconnect all power before connecting or disconnecting the coil. Follow the equipment manufacturer installation instructions for refrigerant line sizing, drain pan connection, and cabinet sealing. Refer to local mechanical codes and ASHRAE 15 requirements when working with A2L refrigerants in confined spaces.
