The HEAT CONTROLLER SAC1418S1A-CY is a 1.5-ton (18,000 BTU/h) residential air-cooled condensing unit designed for split-system cooling applications using R454B refrigerant. Rated at 14 SEER2 minimum, this unit features a fin-and-tube condenser coil with copper tubing and aluminum fins engineered for efficient heat transfer. A rotary compressor handles refrigerant compression, and the unit ships factory-charged for up to 15 feet of interconnecting line set. Factory-installed high and low pressure switches provide internal circuit protection, and the electrical panel is pre-wired for straightforward field hook-up. Licensed HVAC technicians working on light commercial or residential split systems will find this unit ready for standard installation workflows.
The SAC1418S1A-CY is suited for residential split-system cooling installations where R454B refrigerant is specified. The top-discharge configuration directs hot condenser air and operational sound upward and away from occupied areas and surrounding landscaping. Connection sizes of 3/8 inch (liquid) and 3/4 inch (suction) are compatible with standard residential line-set configurations. The unit is rated for 208/230V single-phase 60 Hz electrical service, making it appropriate for typical residential panel configurations across North America. Internal motor overload protection guards against high-temperature conditions during operation.
Designed as an OEM-style residential split-system condensing unit intended for pairing with a compatible indoor air handler or evaporator coil rated for R454B refrigerant service.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with applicable mechanical codes and EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling regulations. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before servicing or making electrical connections. Verify that the matched indoor coil and air handler are rated for R454B before connecting the line set. Do not exceed the factory refrigerant charge without first measuring actual line-set length and consulting the unit charging chart.
