The HEAT CONTROLLER MCL024AEC30C0PS is a 2-ton horizontal water source heat pump designed for single-phase, 265-volt applications using R-454B refrigerant. It delivers both heating and cooling through a coaxial heat exchanger that transfers energy between the refrigerant circuit and a water loop or ground water source. Rated at 27,500 BTU/h cooling and 24,200 BTU/h heating in ground water mode, with a ground water EER of 23.3 and a COP of 4.4, this unit exceeds ASHRAE 90.1 efficiency standards. Licensed HVAC technicians install and commission this equipment in commercial and residential hydronic system applications.
The MCL024AEC30C0PS is configured for horizontal installation with a left return air option, making it well suited for above-ceiling, chase, or mechanical closet installations where vertical clearance is limited. Its compact footprint is particularly useful in retrofit scenarios where replacing existing horizontal fan coil or water source heat pump equipment without major structural modifications is a priority. The extended-range refrigerant circuit supports performance across a wider entering water temperature range, giving it flexibility in both ground water and water loop system designs. Water loop performance is rated at 24,700 BTU/h cooling at 86 degrees F EWT and 28,800 BTU/h heating at 68 degrees F EWT, with a water loop EER of 14.7 and a COP of 5.0.
Designed as an OEM horizontal water source heat pump for ground water and closed-loop water loop HVAC systems requiring a 2-ton, single-phase, 265-volt unit with R-454B refrigerant and a left return air configuration.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician with EPA Section 608 certification for R-454B refrigerant handling. Disconnect all electrical power and isolate water supply lines before beginning any installation or service work. Follow local mechanical and electrical codes, including applicable ASHRAE and NEC requirements, for equipment mounting, piping connections, and electrical terminations. Verify entering water temperature, flow rate, and system loop pressure are within the equipment operating range prior to startup.
